On this occasion, the German Consulate General, together with the Consulates General of France and the United Kingdom as well as the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, organised a film screening at the Fringe Club. During the well-attended event the German documentary “Taste the Waste”, provided by the Goethe-Institut Hongkong, was presented. This film illustrates in a drastic and shocking manner how in our modern, “throw-away” society food waste is generated and how individuals and environmentalists try to make a difference. Hong Kong’s Secretary for the Environment, the Hon. Wong Kam-sing, also attended the screening and gave an opening speech, together with the German Consul General, Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff, and the Head of the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, Vincent Piket.
