Fourth running of Riesling Weeks in June in Hong Kong

Join us to celebrate Germany's most famous grape!

Riesling Weeks is back in town for its fourth running and will take place from 1 June to 30 June 2016. According to Vinexpo Hong Kong and The Drinks Business, Germany is the eighth largest wine importer in Hong Kong with a sharp increase of 37% in volume from 2010 to 2014, partly thanks to the global campaign organised by the German Wine Institute ("Wines of Germany").

June sees a month-long celebration of this classic German grape and it has kicked off in style with Katharina Fladung, the German Wine Princess 2015-2016, who hosted a walk-around tasting.

Kick-off Celebration with German Wine Princess

German Wine Queens and Princesses are global ambassadors of German wine. Each year, the thirteen Germany wine regions elect their own regional wine queens,
who will then compete for the title "German Wine Queen" and "German Wine Princess" in the following year. Katharina Fladung, German Wine Princess from Rheingau, was in town from 27 May to 5 June 2016 for a series of activities. She kick-started the Riesling Weeks in style with a walk-around tasting.

It was once mocked, rejected, and almost forgotten: Riesling wine. But for some years now, this wine variety – which is also a potent symbol of Germany - has been more popular than ever before. Especially abroad.
