Successful German Participation in an International Exhibition at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Within the framework of an international exhibition at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University at the end of February 2012, Germany had the opportunity to present itself.
With the support of the German Consulate General in Hong Kong and thanks to the initiative of German exchange student Jan Welzbacher, it was possible to present Germany to students from Hong Kong, Mainland China and from all over the world. Apart from information about German culture, universities in Germany, magazines and books about engineering in Germany, art and music, film festivals, etc., the German students also prepared traditional food and music. The German students also provided a small quiz about Germany, in order to test and expand the knowledge about Germany. Jan Welzbacher and a group of supporting German fellow students promoting the German booth were asked to provide information about Germany in general, tips about sightseeing, travel advice, basic German language skills, etc. The feedback given was very positive. A lot of international students either said they wanted to go to Germany, or they had already been there. Visitors were also informed about the European Higher Education Fair in Hong Kong (10. – 11. March 2012).
